Managing Want List Items

For a collector, trying to keep up with the items one is looking for can be a daunting task. TrainCat has a way to help make it easier. It is called the Want List. Items from the MasterList and Price Guide can be Added, Printed and Managed within TrainCat.

Within the MasterList and Price Guide screen, the user should take notice of the two buttons in the lower right corner.

The Want One button will add the highlighted item in the Browse area into the Want List.

The Want All button will add ALL of the items within the Browse area (up to maximum of 50 items). This is very useful if the user is trying to locate all items that are related that the user does not have.

Example: The user want all of the Atlas GP locomotives for the Santa Fe railroad. The image shows that the filters at the top were set for Manufacturer = "Atlas" and the Category = "Locomotives". A search using the Find button was executed for the Road Name = "Santa Fe" and the Item Description contains "GP-".

The user needs only to click on the Want All button. TrainCat will search the MasterList and the Inventory placing as many items it can in to the Want List until the maximum of fifty items is reached.

TrainCat will add the appropriate items only if the selected item(s) have Not already been entered in to the Inventory. This is very useful since the user can select a whole range of items and only the items not contained within the Inventory will be added.
