Filters
Since the number of items contained within the database are limited only by the users hard drive storage limitations, the possibility of viewing thousands of items requires some management. Filters allow the user to limit the items viewed in the viewing areas. The filers are:
Manufacturer - Limit the the items viewed to a single manufacturer.
Clicking on the
clears the filter.
Scale - Limit the the items viewed to a single scale. Clicking on the
clears the filter.
Category - Limit the the items viewed to a single category. Clicking
on the
clears the filter.
Sort By: TrainCat defaults to showing the entered
inventory by Manufacturer / Item Number / Road Number and references this by the
title "Item #". The user may also select "Road #",
"Road Name" or "Release Date". Changing the Sort order will
cause the Browse area to make the first column coincide with the sort order.
Clicking on the
clears ALL
filters.
Navigation
The user can navigate through the Inventory or Master List by either the Navigation Buttons at the bottom of the screen or by scrolling through the browse area at the left middle of the screen. The Navigation buttons are:
Display the first item in the database. Disabled when displaying the first item.
Display the previous item in the database. Disabled when displaying the first
item.
Display the next item in the database. Disabled when displaying the last item.
Display the last item in the database. Disabled when displaying the last item.

Search
Detailed in the Search Help page, this command
allows the user to locate any item in the database, Inventory or Master List, by
any parameter. Since this is a filter, it can be cleared by clicking on the
to the right of the Sort By option
Print Performs the same function as using the top Print menu. Clicking this command will activate the report selection screen. Print functions are ONLY available for the Inventory. Master List printouts are disabled. Details on the reports are found here.
Add/Save A dual function command to Add an item into the database. Once Add or Edit are clicked, the function changes to Save which will end the Add/Edit process and save all fields. Further information is available for adding items to the Inventory or Master List.
Edit/Revert A dual function command to Edit an item in the database. Once Add or Edit are clicked, the function changes to Revert which will abort the Add/Edit process.
Delete Delete the current database item. Further information is available here.
Exit Exit the screen. This will exit the program if on the Inventory screen
