In the upper left corner of the screen, drop-down menus provide access to the other modules of TrainCat. Directly below the menu are Filters to make viewing the items in your Inventory easier.

Also notice the Inventory and Master List count next to the logo You can see the number of items in your system. Please Note: the Inventory count does NOT take the quantity of an item into the counting process. It is only the number of unique Stock Items within the Inventory.
Let's Add a new Item
Click once on the Add Button. Notice the changes to the button group. Once you begin Adding a new item or Editing an existing item, the user can only Save or Revert (Cancel) the process.

Don't worry, what we enter in this Tutorial Step will be deleted in a later lesson within Tutorial. If the user had setup the defaults in lesson #2, certain fields may already be populated and can be skipped if changes are not required. For Manufacturer, choose Micro Trains and press the Tab key to go to the Item Number field. Here, enter 47060 and press the Tab key. Since there are multiple Road Numbers associated with this Stock Number, a window will be displayed with all the Items shown for you to correctly choose the specific Item. For our tutorial, click anywhere on the row that contains 18955 as the Road Number. You may have to use the scroll bar on the right hand side of the window to get to the desired Item. Click on the Accept button.

Notice how TrainCat has searched the Master List for the specific Item and auto-populated the information for you.
