TrainCat - Tutorial Lesson 2C Configuring the Databases

To begin, click on the Config menu and then on the Databases option of the drop-down menu bar. 

The Scales used by TrainCat are maintained in the Database Configuration screen accessed from the Main Menu and Selecting Config then Databases. Select Model Scales from the Database selection tool at the top of the screen. It is NOT advised to change the existing scales to stay compatible with the TrainCat Community. Feel free to add your own scales, change the display order or disable the scale to suit your needs.

The Command Buttons work in the same fashion as described in the Inventory and Master List screens. The user must click on the Edit button before changing any of the fields.

The table consists of three fields, the model Scale,  Order it will be displayed in all pull-down menus and a checkbox to disable the Scale within TrainCat. This feature was added in version 1.01.0000. The user may now disable a Scale from being displayed in the associated drop-downs throughout TrainCat. Also, disabling the Scale will inform TrainCat to ignore Master List products of the Scale during the Internet Update process. Both the Scale Code and the Order MUST be unique for proper operation.

When done, click on the Exit Button. Please continue the Tutorial Step #3, Adding Items to the Inventory.
