Manufacturer: A three letter code for the manufacturer. These codes are maintained within the Config Menu and a default manufacturer can be set in the System Defaults to automatically enter a value for the user in Add Mode.
Item Number: The manufacturers stock number for the item.
Model Scale: The scale of the item. These codes are maintained within the Config Menu and a default scale can be set in the System Defaults to automatically enter a value for the user in Add Mode.
Road Number: The road number of the item, if applicable.
Road Name: The railroad name of the item. Example; Baltimore & Ohio
Road Initials: The reporting initials of the railroad name. Example B&O
Category: TrainCat uses categories to group the inventory making searches easier. These codes are maintained within the Config Menu and a default Category can be set in the System Defaults to automatically enter a value for the user in Add Mode.
Description: The description of the item.
High Value: Used to detail the highest amount paid for the item in an auction or sale.
Current Value: The Current Market Value of the item as reflected by the Master List. Frequent Master List updates will be available through the Internet for all registered users
Original Cost: Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price at time of release.
Series Number: The base number of the item and typically used to aid in searching the Inventory or Master List. Example: Locating all Santa Fe boxcars in the 20000 series.
Release Date: The date on which the manufacturer first released the item.
Color Scheme: The color scheme of the item along with any distinguishing variations.
Features: Specific features and/or deviations of the item. For multi-pack sets, the Road Numbers of all contained items.
Thumbnail: A .jpg image of the item is displayed if the image is found in the Thumbnail sub-directory and then in a sub-directory for each manufacturer identified by their manufacturer code. Example: A thumbnail of Micro-Trains would be placed within the "Thumbnails\MTL" sub-directory. Thumbnails should be created no larger than 96 pixels wide by 72 pixels in height having a jpg quality of 65. The thumbnail should be named with it's corresponding item number and have the file extension ".jpg" Therefore, a Micro-Trains stock number 24030 thumbnail would be named "24030.jpg". Knight Industrial Technologies offers a photo CD of almost all Micro-Trains, and other manufacturers, with their thumbnails available for purchase. Sort By:
TrainCat defaults to showing the entered inventory by Manufacturer / Item Number
/ Road Number and references this by the title "Item #". The user may
also select "Road #", "Road Name" or "Release
Date". Changing the Sort order will cause the Browse area to make the first
column coincide with the sort order. Clicking on the
clears ALL filters.
Want List: New to version 1.01.0020, TrainCat now allows the user to capture the MasterList items and create a Want List that can be managed and printed. In a future release, TrainCat will be able to search Internet auctions for Want List Items. To add an item to the Want List,
