Add/Edit Master List Items

     

Great care has been used in creating a wealth of information in the Master List. However we all know that no one person knows everything. There may be some information that the user can provide that will enhance or add to an entry. The user should feel free to add new items or correct missing/wrong information. This is how the TrainCat community will grow to be the the best information source for model railroaders.

Please notice the main button set at the screen bottom. For this help page, we will be concerned with the Add and the Edit buttons.




Clicking on the Add button will add a new item to the Master List while Edit will allow changes to the Master List item currently displayed. If Add is chosen, TrainCat will auto-populate the information preset within the System Defaults. After clicking on either button, the main button set will change appearance to the following.

Once editing or adding begins, TrainCat will allow either saving or abandoning the changes by clicking on the Save or the Revert button respectively.

When ready to save a Master List item, click on Save. TrainCat will check to see if the item is in the series number file. If not found, the user is also prompted for inclusion in to the Master Car Styles. Saving the information into the Master Files will make entering like items easier in the future and allow exporting to the TrainCat Community.
